Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven ServiceNow Product Owner. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in defining, prioritizing, and delivering innovative solutions using the ServiceNow platform. As the key liaison between business stakeholders, development and engineering teams, The Service Now Product Owner will be responsible for translating business needs into actionable requirements, overseeing the product roadmap, and ensuring successful implementations that drive efficiency and enhance user experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Roadmap:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, goals, and pain points.
  • Develop and communicate a clear product strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational objectives.

Requirement Elicitation and Documentation:

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for ServiceNow enhancements and projects.
  • Translate high-level business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications.

Prioritization and Backlog Management:

  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, feasibility, and strategic alignment.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that the backlog is refined and ready for sprint planning.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding of requirements.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, architects, developers, and QA teams to ensure successful product delivery.

Release Planning and Execution:

  • Plan and manage product releases, coordinating with development, testing, and deployment teams.
  • Monitor release progress and resolve any roadblocks or issues that arise during implementation.
  • Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
  • Define clear acceptance criteria for user stories and work closely with QA teams to ensure comprehensive testing.
  • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing, gathering feedback and ensuring the solution meets business needs.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, user experience enhancements, and efficiency gains.
  • Stay up-to-date with ServiceNow platform capabilities and industry best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  • Communicate project statuses, updates, and progress to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Address questions, concerns, and feedback to ensure alignment and transparency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Product Owner or similar role, preferably with a focus on ServiceNow platform.
  • Solid understanding of IT service management (ITSM) and ITIL processes.
  • Proficiency in gathering and documenting business requirements and user stories.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • ServiceNow certification(s) such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is a plus.
