Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Developer to play a critical role in the maintenance, software patching, and the configuration/design of various systems within our AWS-hosted environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DevOps principles, possess hands-on experience in maintaining and patching software, and be adept at architecting and configuring systems within an AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and oversee the infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability of systems hosted on AWS.
• Perform software patching to keep systems up-to-date and secure.
• Design and implement the configuration of systems, applications, and services within an AWS environment.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.

Primary Skills:

• Maintenance: Extensive experience in maintaining AWS-hosted systems and ensuring their operational integrity.
• Software Patching: Proficiency in applying software patches to maintain system security and stability.
• Configuration/Design: Strong skills in architecting and configuring systems, applications, and services within an AWS environment.

Additional Skills:

• AWS: In-depth knowledge and experience working with various AWS services.
• DevOps Principles: Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and best practices.
• Automation: Proficiency in scripting and automation tools to streamline processes.
• Monitoring and Alerting: Familiarity with monitoring tools for tracking system performance and setting up alerts for potential issues.
• Containerization: Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• CI/CD: Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment methodologies.
• Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5 plus years of hands-on experience in DevOps roles, particularly in an AWS environment.
• AWS certifications are a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
