The IT Product Owner will also drive metrics to measure the impact of products/applications on business and stakeholder value. A highly accountable self-starter who wants to make an impact on the enterprise, helping Business end-users articulate their needs, and helping IT deliver these frequently and with high stakeholder satisfaction. Expected to take on the largest projects/oversee teams of Product Owners, with large to very large user bases, very high financial impact/investment/revenue gen, proprietary products not ready to be shared with the market, and focused on up to leadership-level, including external partners, vendors, and strategic alliances with other organizations.

Engage with IT Leadership in aligning product strategy to Product Backlogs as well as in escalating questions upwards and outwards. Drive changes in alignment w/Product Strategy. Act as the liaison between the product team and business on products, collaborating closely with both groups to ensuring there is clear understanding of what features are needed in the product/application. Cultivate and maintain an effective relationship with all Stakeholders, and help the business create detailed requirements for changes/improvements.
- Develop and Own Product Vision & Roadmap: articulate 6 months Product Vision & Release Roadmap. Understand and balance cross-team impacts and technical currency/debt vs feature-development.
- Work w/Business Partners to define and prioritize the Product Backlog in order to streamline the execution of program priorities. Ensure clearly-articulated PBIs & User Stories following best practice conventions (Who, What, Why) that help Scrum Team better understand the functionality they need to deliver. Work w/Scrum Developer team as needed to clarify functional requirements.
- PO has ultimate accountability around quality of released features and owns User Acceptance. Work w/Scrum Team to meet Definition of Done and ensure Acceptance Criteria reflected in product to ensure quality. May coordinate testing efforts and feedback loop with SMEs.
- Engage in PO-to-PO communication as part of Scaled setting across Product teams (for example, Scrum of Scrums) to coordinate team roadmap commitments/progress, uncover dependencies and system architecture considerations. Take part in Quarterly Product Roadmap/Increment/Release Planning Processes: these may involve other Product Owners, Enterprise/System Architects, Release Train Engineers (aka Agile Program Managers), Scrum Masters, Agile Team-members (Developers, Business Analysts), and may include IT Leadership and People Managers.
- Help identify and create metrics to measure impact of releases, features.
- Stakeholder communication, status reports, including budgeting (optional). Provide regular updates to business partners on product changes. Summarize the delivered value for the product changes on a quarterly basis.
