Our client is hiring a Scrum Master/Release Train Engineer to support the Agile teams with a focus on Agile project governance. The ideal candidate is to have a strong understanding of release management to help with pre and post-release activities, communication, and coordination. On a day-to-day basis, this position will be responsible for facilitating the flow of information between the Product and the Technical/ Development teams and championing the adoption of Agile Methodologies and Principles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
As a Servant Leader, work with teams and facilitate/participate in all Scrum ceremonies and cross-functional meetings to enable the development team with accurate and relevant information
Manage and optimize the flow of value through the program and/or Agile Release Train(ART)
Establish an annual schedule for Iterations and Program Increments(PIs), aligning with enterprise portfolio and other program trains as applicable
Facilitates the coordinated preparation of release planning for the release train
Manage all risk and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
Proficient knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework and ability to teach and coach teams, as well as Program and Portfolio stakeholders, to adopt these practices
Summarize Team and PI objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency
Facilitate release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and Business Go/No-Go Reviews
Work with Product Managers and Technical Managers to enable planning, prioritization as well as decisions making on high-value features and enhancements
Continuously work towards improvements in the release process across the program
Supports Reporting of team metrics to facilitate the transparent reporting of Team Productivity/ Velocity and other relevant metrics
Work with internal teams/ stakeholders to help prioritize work that extends across multiple service and application teams and track interdependencies
Attend the SOS meetings and surface any concerns that could derail/ impact delivery across the Program as well as take back potential impacts/ delays to the team
Provide mentoring and training the team in ensuring the adoption of Agile Practices and Principles
“MUST HAVE” SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Experience with the leading successful delivery of releases from planning phase to production release and monitoring
5+ years of experience with Agile Development, Agile Deliver and Agile metrics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document key decisions, risks and action items
Problem Solving and Conflict resolution skills
5+ Years of Scrum Master Experience working with various Application/ Service/ Dev Ops teams
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Past Experience in a similar role such as Scrum Master, Release Manager, Program Manager, or Portfolio Manager is highly desired
Agile Certifications (RTE, CSM, SAFe or similar certifications)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 5+Years
YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 5+Years
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Preferred Certifications not limited to Certified Scrum Master (CSM)Certification, RTE Certification, SAFe Certification or any other Scaled Agile Certifications.
